An Intensive Bellydance Retreat with Lisa Zahiya
Join Lisa Zahiya for a bellydance intensive focusing on examining modern oriental dance through multiple lenses. Dancers will focus on technique, choreography, fitness and history.
Mission and purpose: Lisa Zahiya seeks to cultivate a safe, fun and intensive immersive dance experience at this Bellydance Retreat.
Through experiential learning, dance classes and creative exchange, we seek to strengthen connections between dancers, develop professional and dance skill and create a creative and welcoming experience.
Cost*: The price is $325 for full payment or in 3 scheduled payments.
This pricing includes 15 hours of professional development and classes and 2 meals a day (continental breakfast and lunch).

About Lisa: Lisa Zahiya is an innovative, award-winning performer, in-demand instructor and successful studio owner. Working in the genres of bellydance, Indian dance (Bollywood & Bhangra) and urban dance, Lisa travels nationally and internationally teaching and performing.
Lisa is the owner of Studio Zahiya, three time winner of “Best Place to Take a Dance Class” in Asheville, NC. She also co-owns Asheville Entertainment, an entertainment booking agency.
Lisa is a alumni of the University of Maryland Dance Team and has a background in musical theater, jazz and hip hop. In 2008, her strong powerful style earned her the title “2008 Tribal Fusion Bellydancer of the Universe” and she went on to win the Alternative Category at the Wiggles of the West bellydance competition in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lisa’s unique style and fusion dance forms has gained her recognition in the International dance community. She travels, teaching workshops, performing and developing curriculum. She has developed a fusion dance curriculum for a dance school in San Raphael, France. She serves as guest faculty at Sahara Dance in Washington, DC. She has taught in Las Vegas, Montreal, Saskatechewan, Italy, New York City, Boston and more.
At home, she is faculty at the University of North Carolina, Asheville, Warren Wilson College and Western Carolina Unversity. She also served as an Ambassador for Lululemon Athletica, Asheville.
